Artist’s Statement
My practice explores geometry, form, colour theory, and movement. My work engages with my perception of aura through illusionistic, colourful, moving paintings. I am inspired by Walter Benjamin’s essay The Work of Art in The Age of Mechanical Reproduction and the meditative practice of artist Agnes Martin and musician Aurora. The incorporation of analogue movement with the traditional notion of painting resists digital replication, emphasising the importance of the singular artwork in time and space.
